Shepreth Wildlife Park first started as a private sanctuary in 1979. WillersMill Wild Animal Sanctuary, as it was known, was a refuge for creatures great and small, including rescued foxes, hedgehogs and badgers, alongside many different species of unlicensed exotics. After care and rehabilitation many were released back into the wild, but where this was not possible, they lived out their life at the sanctuary.Put Shepreth Wildlife Park and other Shepreth attractions into our Shepreth trip itinerary planner, and watch your holiday take shape.
Today, Shepreth Wildlife Park still hosts a busy ‘Hedgehog Hospital’ but also participates in national and international breeding programmes for endangered species. It remains as committed as ever to its animals and conservation, and to educating the next generation of conservationists.
Shepreth Wildlife Park Reviews
The wildlife is exceptional and well worth a visit but the toilets are rather basic and could do with an upgrade. Flush not working, no hook to hang up a bag in the toilet... taps too stiff for... more »
Lovely park with lots to see, great work being done with regards to conservation, however it’s very hard to get seated to eat, perhaps a separate soft play area is needed, long wait to order food... more »
Had a lovely day today. Big family group and the kids had a great time. Prices were reasonable and the overall experience was good. Lots of cute animals and excellent play facilities for the kids. We had lunch in the restaurant in the entrance block. Big mistake. Price was good and the taste excellent but there was only one member of staff doing everything. She did it well but very slowly. Top tip if you want better and more efficient service go to the play barn. More staff and a soft play area for the young ones. Some more or more accurate signage about what was going on would have been helpful but that's a little niggle. We left happier and with children smiling from ear to ear so definitely worth 4 stars.
Great day out! Lovely zoo, lots of interesting animals. Staff are friendly knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about the animals and conservation
