Lake District Bikes reviews
Great service, high quality eMTB hire. Excellent location to explore quiet trails around Coniston and Grizedale forest more »
I hired a Mondraker MTB off John. I was apprehensive at first, being a full suspension bike, I thought the bike maybe "ragged" and not up to the task. The bike was in great shape! suspension working..... more »
A huge thank you to John at Lake District Bikes for a fantastic day out. We hired 2 E-bikes and my husband and I are both converts! You can cycle further and faster and whilst it is still great exercise the hills are a lot less painful! John provides a great service and could not be more friendly or accommodating! I wholeheartedly recommend hiring a bike from John for a great day out.
I highly recommend Lake District Bikes. John and his family are wonderful and so very welcoming. We were visiting the Lake District for a long weekend and wanted to try something new and a little different one of the days and a good way of seeing some beautiful hidden spots. John was incredibly friendly and helpful in the lead up to our visit and tailored the guided ride to best suit what we wanted and our ability. Having not ridden a bike since a child its safe to say my bike knowledge and skill was non-existent but upon arrival to their beautiful home my first-time nerves quickly eased as we were set up on the E-Bikes and had our little test ride to get a feel for the bike. Graeme was our guide for the full day and took us on what i can only describe as one of the most stunning and exhilarating rides which started through the quiet back roads alongside the lakes which also helped us feel more comfortable and confident on the bikes. After a little stop for coffee we then moved up hill off the roads and deep into the forest where the fun really started. Despite the colder weather and rain it was one of the best adventures and having Graeme as our guide made it possible to see places we would never have discovered and he honestly made our day incredible. The E-Bikes are very fun and give you that extra ability and confidence to push yourself further than you thought possible and come away feeling excited to come back again one day. John even invited us in for a nice cup of tea and homemade flapjack to warm up after getting back. A big thank you from both us! :)
