Les Hortillonnages d'Amiens, also known as the "Floating Gardens," make a spectacular patchwork of 300 hectares (1.6 square miles). Surrounded by the Somme and Avre rivers, the floating gardens have been cultivated since the Middle Ages. The gardens are in a marshy area surrounded by 40 miles of canals sometimes called "Little Venice of the North." You can walk along the footpaths or see the gardens from a boat called the Barques à Cornet. It is hard to believe that this beautiful site is located just a 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The boat ride was excellent value for money and enjoyed by all of my family.

We are from the UK and absolutely loved it! You will not be disappointed even though it's a French commentary you can just appreciate the beautiful scenery and winding canal around some amazing homes and gardens and wildlife...very peaceful and easy to find and really responsibly priced! Enjoy it wherever your from 🙏🥰😃

Wonderful sight that offers a unique boat trip through canals and the rich plant life and flora of the area. Also perfect for a walk. For those more adventurous, activities like kayaking and zipline (flying fox) are available.
