Although their name suggests Chinese heritage, the nets probably originate from Portuguese settlers who had colonies in Southern China. The unusual nets are fixed on bamboo or teak pillars and are lowered into the sea.     It was good experience with amazing construction and working of fishing net. Price of 8 medium size kanaam fish(very popular local fish) is 1000rs. I suggest you to go around 11:30AM to 12:30PM in fish market near fishing net as you will get fresh fish and they cook it there itself.
