One of Switzerland's best-preserved medieval quarters, Altstadt Luzern attracts visitors with its maze of narrow streets, cobbled passages, and public squares. Located just north of the Reuss River and surrounded by the remains of Lucerne's medieval city walls and towers, the old quarter features an idyllic lakeside promenade flanked by a string of half-timbered buildings with elaborately decorated fronts. The pedestrianized Old Town contains most of the city's major cultural attractions, including the oldest wooden footbridge in Europe. This easily recognizable landmark serves as a convenient starting point for sightseeing tours. Good hotel. The staff was friendly and the room was very clean. The location is great! The only gripes we had were: 1) no air conditioning. This is the case everywhere in Switzerland, even on public transportation. We came here in July during 85+ degree weather and it was pretty uncomfortable. Prepare to sweat! The building remained relatively cool though and they did include multiple fans, so that’s nice. 2) The breakfast was not included and cost 100 CHF for 2 days per room. 3) Everything around this hotel closed very early or did not open at all during the time we were there. To get some stuff from the pharmacy we had to walk to the train station, which is 12 minutes away, because there was not even a convenience store open anywhere around the hotel. Pretty weird for a touristy area.

I really like this hotel! Comfy bed, good location, close to many main tourist attractions and many good restaurants surrounding. Hotel locate in old town area, a bit small but clean, kind stuff and we don’t have any problem during the stay. One best thing is they call us twice because they found a unicorn doll after we checked out the room, but it not ours. This is a very good things I like how they care about guests stuff.
