Little more than a small town at the turn of the 20th century, Dushanbe grew rapidly during the Soviet era and now serves as the national capital and home to nearly 800,000 people.On the 30th (Sun), look for gifts at Noor Art Gallery and then make a trip to Anzob Tunnel (Tunnel of Death). Here are some ideas for day two: pause for some photo ops at Statue of Ismoil Somoni, get engrossed in the history at National Museum of Tajikistan, walk around Rudaki Park, then make a trip to Flagpole with the Flag of Tajikistan, and finally don't miss a visit to Stele with the Emblem of Tajikistan.
