West Kennet Avenue, Avebury

The West Kennet Avenue, is part of the Avebury henge, Wiltshire, UK. It's an impressive and beautiful place, & in my opinion, far more impressive than Stone henge! Definitely worth a visit!

West Kennet Avenue should be seen in conjunction Avebury Stone Circle. There is a small area, at the southern end of the avenue, by the side of the road for parking. A gate at this car park can reach the start of the avenue. Alternatively, you can walk the avenue from the Stone Circle end as well. These ancient stones create an avenue to Avebury Stone Circle, but are definitely worth a visit and provide some great opportunities for some interesting photos. Note this field is used for grazing cattle and if there are young calves around, it probably best to avoid taking your dog.
