An active well for over 2000 years, Chalice Well embodies the peace and solace of its unique location in the Vale of Avalon. The well and its surrounding meditation garden offer visitors a chance to reflect and drink in (literally) the area's fabled history. The well cover, designed by church architect and archaeologist Frederick Bligh Bond, represents the overlap between inner and outer worlds and symbolizes the atmosphere here. Quiet your thoughts in one of the sitting areas or take a relaxed stroll through the grounds. Don't forget to bring a bottle so you can sample the waters from this famous source. On summer evenings, enjoy poetry, music, and other performances in the candlelit gardens. If you're interested in delving further, look at the schedule of workshops and retreats. I brought a group of 22 college students. The staff were terrific, especially Tim. Plan to stay for about 90 minutes. They ring a bell at noon and 3pm daily for a moment of silent meditation.

Amazingly calming place just outside the centre of Glastonbury. Has a link to the Christian faith but equally welcomes all to the peaceful sanctuary within. Requested to put phones in airplane mode. You can purchase glass bottles to take the chalice well water home with you or take your own bottle. Places for contemplation, meditation, bathing, walking in and bathing in the water. Be warned though it is very cold. Great little shop attached too. There is also a little retreat, not looked into it though.

Lovely garden with the well and red spring. Ancient foot washing places and beautiful gardens. Really nice energy and feeling about the place, lovely for a meditation and to enjoy relaxing healing in quiet and peace. Very close to the white spring which is just across the side road. Water is available to fill containers and takeaway should you be so minded.
