Additionally, the Centre is able to host sporting events such as boxing and darts tournaments, as well as providing quality entertainment with events such as concerts, shows and top comedy nights. Our experienced and friendly team is dedicated to ensuring that your event or occasion exceeds all expectations.

Trowbridge Civic Centre, formerly known as the Civic Hall, was reopened in 2011 after a substantial redevelopment of the existing venue. Also home to Trowbridge Information Centre and brand new event and conferencing facilities, our capacity for hosting all types of event has increased by 50%.

As you will see from the photographs throughout this site, the Centre is modern in appearance, with light and spacious rooms throughout the venue. Approaching our main entrance via the beautiful town park’s avenue of trees (our own ‘Champs-Elysées’) you cannot help but notice our large glazed balcony overhead. Our foyer area is a light and open space with a well-equipped bar, ready to serve your function, should you require. A member of our friendly Facilities team will greet you on arrival and show you to your hired room, as well as discussing with you the final arrangements for your function.

Other Services

Working with our provider Marston’s PLC., our bar is set up to serve up to 900 persons; our trained staff will provide you with a professional service, delivered with a friendly smile. A pre-order wine service is available for functions involving dining, as well as table service for your event. Our licence permits bar service to be provided between the hours of 0800-0500.

We have a large supply of grey or black display boards which are hired out as a pack of 3 at £6.00 + VAT. If you are looking to host an exhibition, wedding fayre or similar, we can discuss a rate for which these can be provided for display purposes.

Catering for functions and events within the Civic Centre can only be provided by our catering partners. All requirements can be discussed with our Customer Service Supervisor, who will source the best menu choice and costings for your event. We can cater for all cultures and dietary requirements, so please ask us for more information.

Tea, coffee, juice and water provision is booked directly with the Civic Centre, and our staff will look after your requirements for this service throughout the entire event. We provide self-serve stations for bookings of 50 persons or less, otherwise all bookings are fully staffed to provide refreshment service.

If your event is public, you will be able to make full use of advertising on our presentation screens throughout the Centre and within Trowbridge Information Centre: any promotional video you have for an event can also be shown via this medium. We also use Ticketsource, an online outlet which you can utilise for your event's ticket sales, however they can be purchased in more conventional fashion from Trowbridge Information Centre during their normal opening hours. Facilities Manager – Karl Buckingham

Karl has been involved in the hospitality trade since 2001: after leaving school in 1997, his trade was as a coachbuilder. Having worked at the former Chicago Rock Café in Trowbridge, he joined the Civic Hall team in 2005. Karl is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Civic Centre including management of the venue’s services, contractors, events and marketing.

Our customer service advisors will be your point of contact regarding the planning of your event within the Civic Centre. They will oversee the entire process, from your initial booking, arranging meetings, liaising with our catering providers, through to planning with the rest of the team in order for them to provide excellent service, exceeding your expectations.
