See Qurani verses carved into the stone walls of Al Saleh Mosque. The fusion of architectural styles, which they call Himyarite architecture, highlights the massiveness of the mosque while the combination of black, red, and white limestone, represents its significance. The main dome with wooden ornate roof is 39 m (about 127 ft) tall, and its minarets stand over 100 m (328 ft). Inside you'll see chandeliers with floral motifs as well as classrooms and libraries where students can study. The place is completely secure; you may even witness bomb-sniffing dogs. Put Al Saleh Mosque at the forefront of your travel plans using our Sanaa day trip planning site.
